Taiwanese Heritage Week
Every May, CSC has organized concert and art exhibition to celebrate the Taiwanese Heritage Week. CSC
has invited several world-class Taiwanese musicians to perform music, which are composed by
Taiwanese as well as international musicians. In 2000, a high school orchestra in Houston was invited
to perform Taiwanese songs at the Taiwanese Community Center.
Asian American Festival
In October, CSC would take part in the Asian American Festival at Hermann Park. Taiwanese arts, crafts
and cultural information are displayed in exhibition booth. In addition, Taiwanese aboriginal folk dance,
kung fu, and instrumental music are performed on the Satellite Stage in the park.
Asian Heritage Month
In May of 2002, over 100 people participated in the celebration of Asian Heritage Month, with a big parade
float symbolizing Taiwanese pursuit of democracy and harmony for a peaceful world. Also, CSC
exhibited at the Alief Community Park cultural items and information about four major ethnic groups in
Taiwan.
