2020 Fundraising Event
The Taiwanese Heritage Society of Houston (THSH) is hosting our ONLINE annual fundraising event on November 7th from 8 am to 10 am. The virtual event link will be sent after receipt of payment.
The society is indebted to the strong support from the community over the past three decades. The extraordinary circumstances and inconvenience COVID has inflicted on us force us to move this year's event online. Your contribution will allow the Taiwansese society to continue to flourish during this global pandemic. The projected expense for this year is $100,000.
In this year's event, we are honored to be joined by TANG Feng (Audrey TANG) with an open conversation and Q&A session. We would circulate an internet survey to collect questions from you for Minister Tang one week before the event. Minister Tang will also be available to chat with participants during the live meeting.
Minister Tang specializes in internet government and the development of the open community; both are critical in Taiwan's success in combating the virus. Thus, THSH would like to invite her to share her experience of using the internet system to curb the spread of COVID and disabuse information about preventive measures that could enhance public health and safety under the current environment. Additionally, we would like to invite her to share some of her personal experience dealing with the challenges that come with technologies' advancements.
We look forward to your support. Proceeds from the event will contribute to supporting the Taiwanese Heritage Society's mission. Ticket prices are from $50, $100, $200, $500, $1000, and special donation (the deadline for registration is October 31, 2020). Below are the venues of registration.
Donors with over $1000 will be listed on the prestigious honor roll in the Taiwanese Community Center. Your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We will send it to you upon the successful completion of your donation. If your company has a Matching Fund Program, we encourage you to make use of the opportunity to double the impact of your donation. We will send the virtual link and a survey for the Q&A to you one week before the event.
The society's primary mission is to promote Taiwanese cultural activities of various associations by providing venues and facilities. We aim to make the "Taiwanese Community Center" an excellent place for all Taiwanese-Americans, where they can stay connected and continue their lifelong learning experience in the Greater Houston area. The spirit of the Taiwanese Heritage Society of Houston is passing experience down through the generations. We hope that you will continue to support this Taiwanese-American endeavor in serving the community.
Yours Sincerely,
Yao-Yuan Yeh
President, The Taiwanese Heritage Society of Houston
