2024 Taiwanese American Heritage Scholarship
The Taiwanese Heritage Society of Houston (THSH), founded in 1989, is committed to promoting Taiwanese American culture and serving the broader Houston community. The Taiwanese American Heritage Scholarship Program reflects our dedication to advocating for higher education and community service among young adults.
An independent Scholarship Committee will oversee the selection process. The program is funded primarily by THSH, with additional contributions from the Dr. and Mrs. Ping-Cheng Wu Memorial Fund, the Ms. Amy Lin Memorial Fund, and the Ching-yuan Pan Memorial Fund.
Awards
Each recipient will receive a scholarship of $1,000 USD.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on the following:

Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be assessed based on the following:
- Academic achievement
- Community service involvement
- Cultural identity and engagement
- Must reside in the greater Houston metropolitan area.
- Must be of Taiwanese descent, with at least one parent of Taiwanese or Taiwanese American heritage.
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college, university, or higher education institution in the U.S. by Fall 2025.

- Completed online application form.
- Most recent official high school transcript.
- Official SAT or ACT score report.
- Personal statement (650 words max) addressing:
- How your Taiwanese or Taiwanese American heritage has influenced your growth.
- How you plan to remain active in the Taiwanese or Taiwanese American community in the future.
